PostSubject: Rules and Netiquette   Sun Apr 30, 2006 3:03 pm

Just some general guidelines, rules and requests when using this forum...

We created this site so that people could get to know others who share a similar taste in music and be exposed to new and upcoming artists in a similar genre. Therefore, as part of the creation of this forum we were told the following and so I pass this on to you...

Quote :
The administrators and moderators of your forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws.

These elements are not allowed :

1. peer to peer link exchange (edonkey, emule, bittorrent…),
2. sexual elements,
3. elements having royalties

Other Rules
1. Please read all posts carefully before posting a reply or new topic. Miscommunication is incredibly easy on the internet as you can't convey sarcasm, irony etc etc.. you guys get the picture.
2. If you're not sure of anything please email or pm the moderators or the admin directly. For the most part they are incredibly patient beings who will do their very best to see you are happy.
3. Basic netiquette... I guess that just means being nice to people online. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean that their feelings and thoughts should not be considered. If you think your post may be construed as being offensive or hurtful - don't post it or find another way to say what you're saying.
4. Respect each other's privacy and opinions, even if you don't agree, try to refrain from starting an online bloodbath. They tend to be messy to clean up.
5. Please don't be tempted to do anything potentially dangerous like post up your private information, credit card details and whatever on here.
6. Please try to keep the language clean... I know that may be a little hard at times but really... try. Please?
7. As this is primarily a music site please do not ask for or post illegally obtained copyrighted content and make sure to not post any links to content of a questionable nature. To put it simply - clips are fine and so are performances that have already been posted up by the perfomers themselves - remember we're trying to support them.. not destroy them.
8. Please keep signature sizes down. It takes forever to load up huge images. No larger than 500 x 180 pixels please.
Avatars should be kept to approx 80x80 pixels.
If something is too large we may need to ask you to resize it.
9. Posting pictures.. this gets hard especially if you want to share your special moment on here - by all means post away, however we request that you do not 'steal' photos from other uses / sites without first asking their permission. It's just not nice.

I'm sure there are a lot more rules etc but how bout I just post them up if and when there is a need?
OK? All set?
great - get posting.

Just a reminder - the artists who give so much to us by way of sharing their incredible talent are people as well. They are deserving of our respect and on behalf of the Administrators and Moderators, I would like to ask you all to keep your posts, comments and photos on this site in keeping with the artists who have been kind enough to allow us to have them here - classic and refined.

We have been advised that a number of artists do visit the site to see what comments our members post - particularly after an appearance or performance. Please be nice.

Needless to say, we hope this same courtesy and kindness would be shown to the artists if you are lucky enough to meet them in person. We do not want our forum members to be compared with others who are "obsessed teeny-boppers" as this may then lead to artists assuming all other members of the Amore Divine Sempre forum are the same.

Thank you.

~ Lynn is an escape - let your imagination take flight...
